Popisho review5/24/2023 ![]() ![]() Wild enough for you? This is only the beginning of a fantastical journey infused with the awe-inspiring pleasure of dreams and the intensity of nightmares. He's also haunted by his wife who died in the ocean and literally stalks the islands while her body gradually disintegrates. But Xavier also possesses the title of macaenus, a coveted and specially appointed position in which he prepares a once in a lifetime meal for every person exactly when they most need it. This is a super power I never knew I needed but think about how convenient it would be! No more rooting through cluttered spice racks. His special ability is being able to season food just with the palms of his hands. The day begins with Xavier being tasked with preparing a wedding feast for an influential man's daughter. This novel introduces readers to the archipelago of Popisho, a fictional series of islands which form a nation of people possessed with magical qualities and real world concerns. ![]()

The publishing market in Poland is a completely different story: biographies (and memoirs) are among the most popular published genres. ![]() The elevated genre of intellectual biography, which spans the disciplines of history, philosophy, and political studies, is represented by very few works (first and foremost among them is Prorok u svoii vitchyzni: Franko ta ioho spil'nota by Iaroslav Hrytsak). ![]() Book-length biographies about Galicians are particularly scant: with few exceptions, these individuals' " Galician nature " -assigned a status of marginality in the historiographic paradigm that has been carried over from the twentieth century-has caused them to be excluded from the pantheon of important figures about whom biographies are written. Popular biographies and biographic scholarly monographs are in short supply, even those dealing with the most prominent and central figures of Ukrainian history. This is a different take on supernatural interspecies mating. If you like Vampires, Cat shifters, werewolves, other paranormal beings, and an allover fun romance this is for you. He gives each character a unique voice, I enjoyed the audio version much more than the book. I listened to this in Audio and the narration by DorianBane really made the story pop. Other than that, the story is sweet and fun with a bit of spice. I got very confused and had to keep going back. Carter is introduced as a Moutain lion shifter, then Fallon calls him a puma a few times and cougar once then back to Moutain Lion. There is a lot of worldbuilding and it really works for this story. There are so many kinds of paranormal beings, each one fun in itself. And then things really start going wrong. Fallon isn't as quick to accept that they could possibly be mates. But as soon as he meets Fallon he realizes they are mates and begins wooing him. He is a boon to business as he is a very outgoing and enthusiastic. Carter is a Mountain Lion shifter and happy to get an interview for the famous dead and Breakfast as day manager. ![]() ![]() Fallon likes being left alone to write his books. His partner Tanner is a bear shifter and with winter coming on he is feeling sluggish and wants help. Fallon is a vampire and is the silent partner of the Dead and Breakfast a B & B for paranormal beings. ![]() ![]() ![]() Stieg Larsson fans will be delighted." - Publishers Weekly "The pages fly by as the twisty puzzle unfolds. It's the eccentric Assad as much as the over-familiar figure of the burnt-out detective who will have readers hungry for more from Department Q." - Barry Forshaw, The Independent (.) Besides Lattimore, I seem to recall Richard saw the most strengths in Fitzgerald, though the beat and meter were further from the Greek. There is an interesting overview in the introduction by Richard Martin to the Lattimore Iliad that compares a host of the translations. The difference was so jarring I'm looking to pick up a Fitzgerald Iliad.
